Knitting The Gusset With The Magic Loop

Ok and now here is the progress of my sock knitting with the magic loop. I've come as far as the gusset. Finally! It was confusing switching from double pointed needles to the circular needles because my pattern was designed for DPNs. But the good thing about this method is I don't have to put the instep stitches onto a stitch holder while working on the heel. I just left it on the circular needle which was great.

Here is the back view of my completed heel.

And here is the other side showing the open end of the gusset.

I know it looks ugly as at this point. I think I might have picked up some extra stitches along the gusset. I hope it doesn't end up looking queer. Anyway, I'm glad that I've come this far. And now I have to start decreasing stitches for the sole. To be continued....
