A Place To Sell Your Knitting, Crochet and Beaded Stuff

Dear fellow knitters, crocheters and beaders,

How many of you would like to earn some money by selling some of your handmade projects online? I've just set up a new site at http://www.zalch.com/marketplace for people to create their own shop and sell their stuff on. This is a new site for me and I need some adventurers to give this place  a try by taking advantage of the 14 days free trial period to set up a shop here. Would you like to be pioneers here? I also need feedback if the site is in working order.

The trail period is 14 days at the moment but I might extend it if we run into technical problems. If all goes well and you choose to continue to list your shop here, we will only charge $3 per month or $36.50 per year to open a shop here. That's only $0.10 per day which is not a lot. On top of that, there is a 1.75% fee for every successful sale you make on this site. We need to earn a tiny bit as we have to pay for the hosting and site name and that's all. The rest of the sale is yours to keep.

Give it a shot. The address is at http://www.zalch.com/marketplace

Frugal Knitting/Crocheting And The Magic Ball

This blog will be used to store useful knitting ideas that I come across so that I can use it for future reference and share it with fellow knitters and crocheters. Remember how I have this sudden craze for mixed colored yarns? Well I googled and found something exciting.

There is hope for leftover yarn! Yarn is expensive in our country and I hate to see it all wasted even when I am left with just a few inches of yarn. Now I know you don't have to throw it away. There is a way to join the yarn to form a mixed ball of yarn! Hooray! And this technique is called creating a magic ball! It can be used for both knitting and crocheting.

My concern now is how to join the yarn together without seeing a bumpy knot between your work. I found some interesting knots but I have yet to try it. It's a good thing that I haven't thrown my bits of yarn yet. I still have them in a knitted bag stashed somewhere. I haven't figured what I would knit with it though. I welcome ideas.

Oops I Did It Again!

I couldn't help it. I have this thing about mixed colored yarn and I went out to get some more. Now what would I knit with this? An afghan? More socks?

Here are more of it below. I need to stay away from the store to avoid anymore random buying.

Rainbow Across The Needle

I just did another few rows with my mixed colored yarn. I'm still fascinated by the change of colors.

Yarn Again

I have this terrible penchant for buying yarn whenever there is a sale. I already have a huge stockpile of yarn at home but I still added these mixed colored yarns to the collection. I got these at 30% off. It was too good to resist. I just had to buy it. I figure it will probably take years to finish knitting my whole collection of yarn. Our country is warm and humid. Knitting is not so popular here. I usually do small projects that I can use in an Aircon room or during the monsoon season.  I might consider doing some knitting for charity if I have the time. I might start a club or project but I need to find the time first.

Experimenting With Mixed colored Yarn

I love how the color changes across the needles. Check it out below. I have yet to see the finished results though.

My sock

I used a different colour for each part of the sock so that I can see how the pattern looks like. Interesting. Now I know the parts of a sock. Ha ha ha!

it wasn't easy changing colors because I have to be careful of the tension used. Holes can form if it's too loose.

How To Crochet a Bowl

Ok this is another video that I would like to try. I'm looking for yarn that is not wool. Perhaps something like nylon rope or laundry strings to do this. Well, no harm trying something different. I don't want a warm woolly basket.

How to Crochet a Square Crochet Basket

I love this video and hope to try this soon. I can use this to organize the stuff in my room. The instructions are very clear and easy to understand.
